Hiking

Zell am See offers fantastic hiking trails for young and old alike. A real highlight for families is the high-altitude promenade on the Schmittenhöhe. The cable car takes you comfortably to the summit, where the panoramic trail begins. Breathtaking views and exciting stations for playing and discovering await you on the well-maintained, child-friendly trail.

Mountainbiking

Our region offers wonderful routes for mountain bikers – with lake view included! The Ebenberg circuit is particularly popular: a moderately difficult tour of around 10 km that starts directly in Zell am See. Forest paths lead up to the Ebenbergalm circular trail, where you can enjoy a fantastic view of Lake Zell. The route then leads back down into the valley along varied paths.

Swimming in Lake Zell

On hot summer days, there is nothing better than diving into Lake Zell. The crystal-clear water invites you to swim, splash around and cool off. Three public beaches around the lake – in Zell am See, Thumersbach and Schüttdorf – offer sunbathing lawns, jetties and play areas for children. With views of the surrounding mountains, every dip in the water becomes a special experience.

Tobogganing Fun

Tobogganing fun for young and old: the Köhlergraben natural toboggan run in Zell am See or the illuminated Kohlschnait toboggan run in Bruck provide action – during the day or at night.

Cross-country skiing with panoramic views

Whether classic or skating style, cross-country skiers will find perfect conditions in Zell am See-Kaprun. Over 100 kilometres of trails lead through snow-covered meadows, forests and along Lake Zell.
